We experienced little to no nose dive and excellent stability. On each run the brakes stopped the M3 quickly and with very little ABS system noise. Our best stop was on the very first run, with the second and third attempts within four feet of the first. Although one would guess that in time you'd get used to its quick responsiveness and make adjustments to your throttle inputs.īraking matches acceleration in terms of performance, excellent. Throttle tip-in while in "sport mode" is incredible, maybe a little too touchy for everyday street driving. We achieved our best effort on the fifth and final run with the "DSC" switched off, "sport mode" engaged, and shifting around the 8,000 rpm mark. The exhaust note at the higher rpms has a certain raspiness to it that is more Formula One than street car. It revs fast and hard to its 8,000 rpm redline, similar to a motorcycle. This is one sweet engine! Just when you wonder how BMW is going to continue to improve its products and engines, you get the new M3 for an answer. Test Driver Ratings & Comments Acceleration comments
